This antique Nordic arm ring is hand-crafted of silver and features a large blue-green center stone with red & blue glass/resin beadwork. This antique is in excellent condition for its age (c. 1700s) and originally comes from the Nordic region of Northern Europe & the North Atlantic, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.
The Norse people were artisan jewelry-makers, creating simple pieces of metal jewelry, as well as decorative objects of fantastic design & craftsmanship. The most popular jewelry among Norsemen were bracelets, also known as armbands, arm rings, or torcs. Arm rings were mostly worn by men and used for both adornment and commercial trade.
