This antique Egyptian stone relief panel is something to behold. Mounted in a shadowbox or simply put on a stand, this Hathor stone relief panel will strut its stuff!
The ancient Egyptian Goddess Hathor was one of forty-two state Gods and Goddesses of Egypt, and one of the most popular and powerful. Hathor was Goddess of many things: love, beauty, music, dancing, fertility, pleasure, as well as the protector of women.
This piece was made by local Egyptians for affluent visitors who traveled to Egypt on educational "Grand Tours" of various archaeologically significant sites between 1780-1920s; a time also known as the "Egyptian Revival Period."
This Egyptian ring is attested to as authentic and to have been made in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” era by Mr Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands, Ltd, and is accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of its "Provenance & Ownership" documentation.
