Antique Roman Cast-Bronze Statue | Jupiter (c. 1st Century A.D.)
This is an ancient cast-bronze statue of the Roman God Jupiter (Greek - Zeus) from the Roman Imperial Period (c. 1st - 3rd century A.D.) The bearded "king of the gods" stands crowned with a wreath, his weight shifted onto his left leg, a bird in his right hand, his left gripping the vestiges of his famed lightning bolt, and nude save the cloak draped over his powerful shoulders. A gorgeous green & russet patina has coated the piece over the ages.
This ancient artifact is truly a marvelous rendering, displaying the sculptor's ability in capturing the power & majesty of this almighty Greco-Roman God, making it the perfect choice as the centerpiece to any art collection.
This ancient Roman artifact has been attested as authentic to the Roman Imperial Period (c. 1st century A.D.) by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands LTD, and accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of the ring's “Provenance & Ownership” documentation.
